Hello! My name is Chef Phil and along with Dr. Mercedes we are part of Five Loaves & Two Fish Healthy Teaching Kitchen. We created an innovative culinary experience that combines health education and nutrition along with hands-on culinary instruction. With the exciting outcome of creating easy, quick, balanced, healthy, budget-friendly nutritious meals that you have the joy of preparing and sharing with your family and friends!
This newfound culinary nutrition is associated with a reduction and prevention of chronic diseases (i.e. high blood pressure, cholesterol, blood sugar and obesity) treatment and cure. We help participants acquire motivation to help succeed at positive change.
My calling to become a culinary chef started in my childhood kitchen watching my parents prepare meals on the island of Barbados. With family from the Caribbean, most notably Barbados, St. Vincent and the Grenadines. I was made privy to growing various fruits, vegetables and raising poultry. Watching and helping my family in the preparation, along with working in the foodservice industry at a five diamond world-class restaurant and resort lead me to where I am today. I am delighted to share my knowledge and expertise with you!

Will help you learn new skills, keep you motivated and provide encouragement to help you set and meet goals-all while lowering your risk of type 2 diabetes and improving your health.
Together with Dr. Mercedes, we are here to provide you with a wealth of health education ranging from various medical topics, self-care help including mindfulness, physical activity and behavioral health coaching that will leave you empowered to “Create your own recipe or positive change!”
